A strong partnership in Brazil – HATLAPA and TRIDENTE

HATLAPA has been manufacturing marine equipment for the merchant shipping industry for over 90 years and is also well known in the offshore industry. As the offshore industry has shown extensive growth in the recent past, HATLAPA further developed its winch portfolio to meet specific offshore requirements, especially for anchor handling.

Along with its growth in the offshore sector and its recent expansion in Norway and China, HATLAPA has also confirmed a new agent in Brazil. Acknowledging the fact that Brazil is one of the world’s major offshore players, HATLAPA feels that a strong presence in the Brazilian market will help its way forward in the offshore industry.

TRIDENTE’s long experience in the marine and offshore sectors made it the natural choice as a partner in the Brazilian market. TRIDENTE was founded in 1976 as a manufacturing and servicing business and has developed a strong position in the marine industry. Its offering is now mainly focussed on maintenance, consultancy and engineering services. “TRIDENTE’s well-established relationships in the Brazilian market are a great asset for HATLAPA as a global business and will strengthen our position in both marine and offshore markets”, states HATLAPA’s Offshore Sales Manager, Uwe Nickschat.

In Brazil, TRIDENTE has two offices in downtown Rio de Janeiro where the majority of shipyards, owners and operators are, one office in Macaé, near the offshore activity in the Campos Basin oilfields, and one service and assembly facility in São Gonçalo, only 30 minutes from the Ports of Rio and Niterói.

TRIDENTE’s Managing Director, João Alberto Pereira Gomes comments: “I was very proud being contacted by HATLAPA for a partnership. HATLAPA is a very well known name and reputable company worldwide and certainly amongst all Brazilian shipyards and owners. This association will also bring a lot more activity, creating more jobs in Brazil fulfilling Brazilian Government expectations about local content. It is definitively a good and pleasant challenge maintaining the HATLAPA name in high profile.”
