STX Finland and Viking Line Sign Agreement For Cruise Ferry

STX Finland Oy and Viking Line ABP have signed a preliminary agreement for the construction of an environmentally friendly, new generation cruise ferry for Viking Line. The agreement includes an option for a sister ship. The ship price will be about 240 million euros, and will be built at Turku shipyard for delivery in the beginning of 2013.

MOL Table Top Drill Tests –

DSME Signes a $800M Deal With Sovcomflot

South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering announced today that on October 20th they signed a newbuilding contract with the state-owned Sovcomflot to build a total of 12 Aframax crude/product carriers (including vessels to be built in Russia and optional units) worth around $800m.

Kockums launches submarine for Singapore Navy

RSS Swordsman was launched today with pomp and circumstance. The submarine is the second in the Northern Light project under which two Västergötland class submarines, previously owned by the Swedish Navy, have been rebuilt, life-extended and modernised.
