Wilhelmsen Expands in Turkey

17 December, 2010

Wilhelmsen Ships Service continues to extend its worldwide network coverage by expanding its presence in Turkey.  The company has just opened a new office in Aliaga-Izmir, which is the fifth the company has opened in Turkey.

The new office is located in the centre of Aliaga and offers easy access and a safe environment for both customers and staff. During the last couple of years the Aliaga port has become one of the most important ports in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Trade has grown through links with a variety of production, storage, distribution and trade opportunities in the area.
Irem Gokmen, General Manager for Wilhelmsen Ships Service in Turkey, commented on the development, “We have concentrated on the importance of having an office in Aliaga, since the location has become an increasingly strategic point for our operations.  At the same time we have increased our geographical presence towards our customers.”

Semih Altay, Ships Agency Operation Manager at Wilhelmsen Ships Service Turkey added, “This will help us to improve our service satisfaction level towards our customers, as well as increasing the volume in ships agency business especially in the LNG market.”
